Rebecca came to SA in 1990 prior to Nelson Mandelas release from prison and the launch of the rainbow nation....she fell in love with the jacarandas and with the prospect of being part of an exciting new era in the country. Her background was in sales and marketing for the Yellow Pages in the UK where she was in the top five best sales representatives nationally. Her strengths lay in branding, strategic marketing and corporate identity. In South Africa, Rebecca was offered a position with Times Media where she launched and re-positioned different brands, including SA Interior Design magazine. She subsequently started her own brand: IE Magazine which she ran for 11 years. IE Magazine was project driven, encompassing architectural interior design, so as t'he economic climate began to change, Rebecca took the decision to close the magazine in May 2011 and run with the more product-driven Butler Magazine which includes the food and travel industry. With the onset of the World Cup 2010, South Africa has become an increasingly popular travel destination and a constant source of inspiration to Rebecca, who enjoys assessing service and hospitality, not to mention her high standards as a food critic. An avid photographer, she also evaluates hotels and restaurants in terms of interior design. Rebeccas vision for the future is to touch sides globally via the online version of Butler magazine, offering a worthy contribution to the future of tourism in South Africa.

Rebecca has been a green activist for more than 10-years and is passionate that Butler be used as a platform to educate and inform the relevant industries of what can - and must - be done to ensure that sustainable practices are in effect wherever possible. She started this drive with IE and Warehouse Magazines, and it is also one of the key factors behind Butler's editorial policy and information drive.
